The Need: Enhancing Site Safety

Based in Cestas (FRANCE), in the heart of the Landes de Gascogne Regional Natural Park, Planète Végétal is France’s leading independent producer of fresh carrots and leeks. With four buildings—including two processing workshops—and extensive cultivated fields, the site hosts over 220 employees during peak season.

To enhance operational safety, Planète Végétal required a new audible and vocal alert system for its Emergency Response Plan and partnered with ae&t to implement a reliable solution.

The Solution: SmartVOX® Wireless Voice Alarms

Following an on-site visit and acoustic testing, ae&t determined the optimal number of SmartVOX® units needed. This was crucial given the high ambient noise levels in the workshops, where washing, sorting, weighing, and packaging machinery operate constantly.

A total of 10 SmartVOX® alarms now provide effective coverage for both staff and visitors. In the event of an incident, the devices broadcast a clear alert tone followed by a voice message detailing the specific evacuation procedures.

Because SmartVOX® units communicate via radio, no inter-device wiring was required, allowing Planète Végétal to handle the installation and configuration independently. The system is triggered via strategically placed emergency push buttons.
