The Lescar City Hall (64) contacted ae&t to implement a “terror attack-intrusion” alarm as part of the Specific Safety Plan (PPMS).
The Need:
Lescar is home to several schools: Les Prés nursery school, Victor Hugo and Laoü nursery and elementary schools, Paul Fort elementary school, and the private primary school La Calandreta, accommodating over 450 pupils. These students are distributed across these five schools throughout the commune.
As part of the Specific Safety Plan (PPMS), audible alarms covering all areas of the school groups must be installed to alert teaching staff and students in the event of a risky situation.
The Solution:
ae&t responded quickly by proposing a solution that is easy to use and implement, meeting the identified needs. Following on-site testing, 18 SmartVOX® vocal alarms and 30 radio remote controls were determined necessary. These are distributed among the staff of nursery and primary schools, with one remote control available in each canteen.
The proposed system allows the broadcasting of alert sounds and voice messages adapted to alert situations, providing instructions on appropriate actions, such as confinement or evacuation.
SmartVOX® devices communicate with each other using LoRa radio technology, eliminating the need for wiring between devices. This simplifies installation and reduces costs. In case of danger, the voice message announcing the situation can be easily triggered. Thanks to the sound power of the speakers and sound synchronization, the message is perfectly audible and understandable to educational staff and young students.
After on-site sound tests, SmartVOX® vocal alarms were easily installed and configured. The Lescar City Hall validated the SmartVOX® vocal alarms, ensuring an effective, simple, scalable, and cost-efficient PPMS solution.
